Position Overview
The Runner plays an important role in supporting the smooth operation of the hotel by ensuring guests and colleagues receive items and assistance when needed. Working across multiple departments, the position may involve delivering requests to guest rooms or assisting teams such as housekeeping, engineering, banquets, restaurants and front office.
The role requires an active, hands-on approach and a strong commitment to maintaining service quality. Runners are expected to contribute to a safe working environment, follow company procedures, protect confidential information and maintain professional standards in appearance and communication.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver requested items and provide operational support to guests and hotel associates in a timely manner.
Assist different hotel departments, including housekeeping, engineering, banquets, restaurants and front office.
Help maintain efficient day-to-day hotel operations by responding promptly to operational needs.
Follow all company policies, procedures and established quality standards.
Maintain confidentiality when handling guest or hotel information.
Maintain a professional uniform, personal appearance and communication style at all times.
Remain physically active throughout the shift, including extended periods of standing, walking and moving around the property.
Safely navigate stairs, service ramps and narrow, confined or elevated areas when required.
Read and visually verify information in different formats, including small print.
Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually to ensure they are suitable for use.
Lift, carry, push, pull and position items weighing up to 55 pounds (approximately 25 kg) without assistance.
Perform duties that require reaching overhead and below the knees, as well as bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
Carry out other reasonable responsibilities assigned by management to support hotel operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent qualification.
Related Experience: Previous related work experience is not required.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
License or Certification: None required.
