About the College of Music
The University of North Texas College of Music is seeking a Graphic Design Specialist to support its communications and marketing efforts. The successful candidate will create professional and visually engaging graphics and media materials for both digital and printed communications.
The work will help strengthen the College of Music's public image, attract audiences to concerts and events, and support recruitment initiatives involving students, faculty, and staff.
Position Summary
The Graphic Design Specialist will handle the creative development, design, editing, and production of visual communication materials for the College of Music.
The position will work on a variety of print and digital projects while ensuring that materials follow university branding requirements, meet professional design standards, and are delivered according to agreed schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in a relevant field combined with at least one year of experience in print, video, electronic media production, or a related area.
Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and training may also be considered.
Understanding of graphic and media design principles, production practices, equipment, and relevant software.
Manual dexterity and the physical ability required to operate media and production equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience editing video content for websites and other digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Consult with internal clients and stakeholders to develop project concepts, create designs, review proofs, prepare files for printing, and manage assignments through final completion.
Research current design trends, audience preferences, industry practices, and approaches used by peer universities.
Apply appropriate design practices and current standards to both print and digital projects.
Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with colleagues, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Complete assigned projects within agreed deadlines and schedules.
Design and produce promotional materials used to advertise College of Music programs and initiatives, including recruitment advertisements and posters.
Develop promotional graphics and materials for conferences, workshops, special events, and other college activities.
Create layouts for the College of Music Events Calendar in its various formats.
Assist with the preparation, compilation, editing, and presentation of the college's Events Calendar.
Apply knowledge of graphic and media design principles, equipment, software, and production techniques to assigned projects.
Develop and deliver visual content for print publications, websites, email communications, and social media platforms.
Ensure communications materials comply with university visual identity and branding standards.
Assist college stakeholders and external vendors in applying approved graphics and branding standards to their materials.
Conceptualize, edit, design, and produce promotional content for events, conferences, workshops, and related activities as required.
Physical Requirements
Regular communication with others to exchange information and coordinate work.
Primarily sedentary duties involving periods of sitting and standing.
Repetitive movements involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers may be required.
Work Environment
No significant or adverse environmental conditions are anticipated for this position.
Additional Employment Information
University vehicle operation: Not required.
Work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This position is classified as Security Sensitive.
